CET’s inaugural Tech Showcase brought bleeding-edge technologies to corporations, business experts and investors. Researchers from top Midwest institutions presented technologies in battery storage, water management, biofuels and clean energy that are ripe for commercialization.
The Tech Showcase, held October 3rd, 2012 in Chicago, was attended by prestigious leaders in the clean energy space. In addition to the presentations by researchers, CET presented a panel on public-private partnerships that included Hans Blaschek, director of the Center for Advanced Bio Energy Research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, David Garman, dean of the School of Freshwater Sciences at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and Maureen McCann, director of the Energy Center at Purdue University. Tracy Warren of Battelle Ventures moderated.
John Flavin, managing director of Flavin Ventures, LLC and executive director of Chicago Innovation Mentors gave the keynote address, encouraging the clean energy community to commercialize these groundbreaking technologies.
