Diversity Equity and Inclusion at Clean Energy Trust

DEI at CET

For over a decade, Clean Energy Trust has been committed to making the world a better place, and we need the brightest minds working on climate innovation. The solutions we need will come from smart, motivated people from all walks of life.

Aligned with our mission of supporting early-stage startups and entrepreneurs working on solutions for clean energy, decarbonization, and environmental sustainability, we are proud to offer multiple opportunities specifically for women, Black, Indigenous, and/ or People of Color entrepreneurs.

In a concerted effort to support entrepreneurs and make the cleantech ecosystem more accessible, we created the program, DEI at CET. Formalizing this program allows us to build upon the work we already do to empower entrepreneurs.

Clean Energy Trust has long been invested in the growth of female and minority cleantech founders as these communities are often underrepresented in the cleantech and clean energy industries. Our portfolio reflects this ongoing commitment and consists of 60% female and minority-led startups.

With the DEI at CET program, we are proud to launch the second year of the U.S. Bank Foundation Cleantech Inclusion Award and the first year of the Nicor Gas Multicultural Innovator AwardLearn more about these awards below. In addition to these award opportunities, we also welcome applicants to apply for investment through our 501vc® Seed Fund.
