As the Managing Director at Clean Energy Trust (CET), Paul Seidler oversees the organization’s investment activities, including deal sourcing, diligence, negotiations, and tracking and supporting portfolio companies. He has participated in 29 transactions totaling nearly $5 million since joining CET in 2014. Paul has served or is currently serving as a board director or observer for 12 portfolio companies, including 75F, AllCell Technologies, C-Motive Technologies, Design Flux Technologies, GreenLancer, Igor, Lotic Labs, NETenergy, Nexmatix, Nikola Power, SPLT (acquired 2017 by The Robert Bosch Company), and Sun Number (acquired 2019). In 2016, Paul conceived and curated CET’s first CEO Summit, an annual leadership seminar for CET’s portfolio company founders and CEOs. He is also responsible for managing structured fundraising initiatives on behalf of portfolio companies seeking to raise institutional capital.
Paul was recognized by the Midwest Energy News in the “40-Under-40” class of 2017. Since 2014, he has served as a mentor at the Summer Institute on Sustainability and Energy (SISE) at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to joining CET, Paul oversaw business development for Applied Thin Films, Inc., an advanced materials company developing ceramic coatings and composites for the energy, aerospace, and defense industries.
